What is ctcLink

ctcLink is an resource planning tool used by the Washington State Board for Community and technical colleges (SBTCT). All employees and students will have an account in the ctcLink system that must be activated prior to use. SBCTC is responsible for the administration of ctcLink, CCS's IT staff work with the SBCTC support team to assist students and staff in getting ctcLink issues resolved. Please remember when talking to CCS IT staff about ctcLink issues we have no direct control over ctcLink and will typically have to put in a ticket of our own on the customers behalf.

ctcLink and Okta

SBCTC switched identity providers to a product named Okta. An identity provider is an administrative software that stores information on users, accounts, and authentication for a software system. It provides a repository and access method to validate users in the system. In this case it is the portion of the system that is used to store a list of users and their rights within the system. Several key instructions have changed to reflect the switch to Okta. The following are instructions SBCTC has released.

When did SBCTC Switch to Okta

SBCTC moved ctcLink to Okta on Saturday July 31st, 2021.

SBCTC has released the following information on setting up account recovery options. CCS IT recommends that staff and students take the time to setup at least one account recovery option.
