Summary

Students enrolled in courses at the Community Colleges of Spokane can install Office 365 on their personal computers (both Windows and Mac devices) using their Bigfoot email addresses.

Follow these steps to get started:

1.  Prepare Your System:

  • Before installation, remove any existing Office software from your computer. Uninstall previous versions of Microsoft Office to ensure a clean setup.

2.  Log In with Your Bigfoot Account:

  • Make sure you are logged in to office.com using your Bigfoot email address (provided by the college).
  • Office 365 licensing is tied to your Bigfoot account, so this step is crucial.

3.  Installation Process:

4.  Licensing and Activation:

      • Once the software is installed, launch any Office application (e.g., Word, Excel).
      • Sign in with your Bigfoot email address and password.
      • Office will automatically activate based on your licensing.

5.  Additional Resources:

      • Microsoft maintains a dedicated support page with updated instructions, videos, and useful tips. Access it here: Microsoft 365 Help & Learning.
      • Explore this resource for troubleshooting, learning new features, and maximizing your Office 365 experience.

6.  Chromebooks and Mobile Devices:

      • Chromebooks and other mobile devices may not support full desktop installations.
      • For a simplified app version, access Office via Office.com.
      • Keep in mind that this web version might not meet all course requirements, especially for advanced features.

Note: MAC devices don’t get the same version of Office 365 that Windows devices do, and if you are taking a class that requires Office 365 we advise that you double check with your instructor for available work around options.
