When scheduling Zoom meetings or using your personal meeting ID (PMI) for a meeting you should consider setting some basic Security settings to ensure you have only your intended attendees and that you have some control over your live meeting.

Security options you should consider:


  • Enabling a Password to protect your meeting: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360033559832-Meeting-and-Webinar-Passwords-

  • Disable Join Before Host as needed. Join Before Host allows your meeting to start with the first user connecting. Useful in some situations, where you are scheduling a meeting and perhaps know you will not attend for the full duration of the meeting or are perhaps arranging a meeting for others, you will not be able to attend.

  • Enable Waiting Room on scheduled Meetings and your PMI. This allows you to setup a landing page on your meetings where you can allow only the participants you want into your meeting. https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115000332726-Waiting-Room

  • Make permanent changes to your Personal Meeting Room/Personal Meeting ID - Login to Zoom, go to Meetings --> Personal Meeting Room tab and Edit, towards the bottom. Ideally, you would set a PW, disable Join Before Host and enable Waiting Room.




CCS Administrative Zoom Security


Currently (Spring 2020) CCS Zoom accounts are setup to allow Zoom account holders to make most adjustments to their account as needed. This is done primarily in the Settings section on the Zoom website, once logged in. When a change is made at the CCS level in Zoom, announcements and explanations will be shared in the Fresh Service Solutions Article Zoom Administrative Security Settings.
