The CCS networks are generally available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, there are times when periodic maintenance must be done. Additionally, no one can predict unplanned outages.

Our regular maintenance window is Tuesday morning between 4:00 AM and 7:00 AM.
In addition, maintenance often is scheduled during the following times:

  • Christmas and Spring break
  • Summer break after the last instructional day of summer quarter and before the first faculty workday of the fall
  • Any Friday afternoon between the end of Spring Quarter and Labor Day
  • Occasionally on weekends

If you need to use the college network during one of these times, it would be best to call the IT Support Center ahead of time to check on availability. Given enough warning, we may be able to reschedule a maintenance window.


Technical staff send important information to end-users via email. When we do this, we will clearly mark the email as coming from CCS, IT Support Center or a known technician from our IT department. There are times when SPAM and “Phishing” efforts (people trying to scam or get confidential information from you) may attempt to impersonate the IT Support Center or system administrators.
