The goal of the IT department is to help you as much as possible with IT-related topics.  Unfortunately, there are far too many topics for us to know all the answers.  Depending upon what questions you have, there are many other resources to get you more help.

lynda.com

As an employee of CCS, you have full access to the entire lynda.com library of courses.  Quote from their website:  “Lynda.com [is the] leading online learning platform that helps anyone learn business, software, technology and creative skills to achieve personal and professional goals.”  If you want to learn details about using most of the primary applications we support here, you are likely to find a course or a single video that can help with this learning.

How do I get to lynda.com?

  • This link will take you to the HR Training site.  You will need to login to CCS Net first to get full access to lynda.com.
  • Click on the purple puzzle piece in the lower right-hand corner labeled lynda.com.puzzle-purple-lynda.png
  • Once at lynda.com, you can search for the information you are looking for.

Microsoft or Apple Help

Both Microsoft and Apple have many Help features built-in to their operating systems and applications.

For Windows systems, there is usually a question mark in the upper right-hand corner of the window.

For Apple systems, the Help menu is the right most menu in the Menu bar.

Search engines

There are many excellent Internet search engines.  Two of the best known are Google and Bing.  These sites allow you to ask a question in normal English and still get a good response.

YouTube

You will be surprised at the wide variety of short videos on how do to just about anything.  Go to the site and search for what you want.  Many software vendors actually have their own “YouTube channel” where they have many videos about their products.
