CCSNet is our college WiFi network, accessible to students and staff. These instructions detail how to connect to this network from a PC running Windows 10.
Description/Steps for Resolution
Step One - Launch the Control Panel
Enter the Control Panel by pressing the Windows and X keys at the same time and then selecting Control Panel. This works on a physical keyboard or an onscreen keyboard. Alternatively, you can select Start, type Control Panel, and then select Control Panel from the top of the search results.
Step Two - Access the Network and Sharing Center
From within Control Panel, select Network and Sharing Center.
If you do not see the Network and Sharing Center, you may need to try a different route. If your window looks more like the one shown below, select Network and Internet.
Another window should appear, and this one should have the Network and Sharing Center. Select it to continue to the next step.
Step Three - Set up a New Connection
From within Network and Sharing Center, select Set up a new connection or network.
Step Four - Manually connect to network
From within the Set Up a Connection or Network window, select Manually connect to a wireless network and then select Next.
Step Five - Enter Network Information
From the “Manually connect to a wireless network window”, enter the following information:
|Network name:||CCS Net|
Step Six - Modify Network Settings
CCS Net has been successfully added, but configuration changes are still required before you can connect. Select Change connection settings.
Step Seven - Modify Network Settings (continued)
Select the Security tab at the top of the CCS Net Wireless Network Properties window, then select the Settings button next to Choose a network authentication method:
Step Eight - Modify Network Settings (continued)
On the Protected EAP Properties window, uncheck the box that says Verify the server’s identity by validating the certificate, then select the Configure… button.
Step Nine - Modify Network Settings (continued)
On the EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties window, uncheck the box that says Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any).
Step Ten - Modify Network Settings (continued)
Now we need to close all the windows we just used to modify these settings. To close the windows, select OK on each open window.
NOTE: Do NOT select Cancel or the X in the upper right corner of the windows or the settings will not be saved.
Step Eleven - Connect to the Network
You should now see a wireless icon with an asterisk on it in your system tray near the clock. Left click (or long press) that icon.
Step Twelve - Connect to the Network (continued)
That will bring up a Network settings pane on the right side of the screen. Select CCS Net from the list of networks.
Step Thirteen - Connect to the Network (continued)
Ensure the Connect Automatically box is checked so it will automatically reconnect in the future. Then select Connect.
Step Fourteen - Enter your Credentials
Enter your CCS network username and password in the respective boxes, then select OK.
Students should add @bigfoot.spokane.edu after their username.
