Summary
CCSNet is our college WiFi network, accessible to students and staff.  These instructions detail how to connect to this network from a PC running Windows 7.


Step One - Launch the Control Panel

Choose the Control Panel from the Start Menu.


Step Two - Manage Network Settings

Choose View network status and tasks. (Screen 1)


Step Three - Manage Wireless Networks
Click on Manage wireless networks in the left sidebar.

Step Four - Add a new network
Click on Add near the top left (Screen 2).


Step Five - Create your network profile
Choose Manually create a network profile (Screen 3).


Step Six - Enter Network Information

Enter the following information (Screen 4), then hit Next:


Network name: CCS Net
Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
Encryption type: AES



Step Seven - Modify Network Settings

Click Change connection settings (Screen 5).

Click on the Security tab at the top of the window, then select Settings. (Screen 6)


Step Nine - Modify Network Settings (continued)

Uncheck the box that says Validate server certificate, then select the Continue... button. (Screen 7)


Step Ten - Modify Network Settings (continued)

Uncheck the box that says Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any). (Screen 8)


Step Eleven - Modify Network Settings (continued)

Click OK on both the EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties window and on the Protected EAP Properties window to close them.

Returning to the CCS Net Wireless Network Properties window, select
Advanced settings.

Make sure Specify authentication mode is checked and set to User or computer authentication (Screen 9)



Step Fourteen - Modify Network Settings (continued)
Now we need to close all the windows we just used to modify these settings.  To close the windows, select OK on each open window.
NOTE: Do NOT select Cancel or the X in the upper right corner of the windows or the settings will not be saved.



Step Fourteen - Enter network credentials
You should see a bubble pop up in the lower right hand corner of your screen asking for additional to connect to CCS Net. Click anywhere in that bubble (Screen 10)


Step Fifteen - Enter network credentials (continued)
In the Windows Security window, enter your CCS network username and password in the respective boxes. (Screen 11)


Students should add @bigfoot.spokane.edu after their username.

Faculty and staff should enter one of the following after their username, depending on which domain they belong to:
@ccs.spokane.edu
@scc.spokane.edu
@sfcc.spokane.edu


Step Fifteen - Verify Network Connection
You should now see that you are connected to CCS Net if you hover the mouse pointer over the wireless icon in the system tray
